IN MY LAST HOUR SHOW

"In My Last Hiour" is the name of my show, and the idea is that I wanted to capture the last hour before of death. I think of death in a metaphoric meaning, as end and also as a new start. All the paintings are like snap shots of a moment in the last hour, so I made all of the paintings small, like a 5"x7" photo, except for one large piece in this show.

I wanted the show to feel like a funeral, using candles sconces around each painting. The tiny paintings are as hard to make as much as the big paintings, so I wonder if it was a good idea, but I sure enjoyed working on it. They are very painful, but at the same time, this show scares me a little. I think I approached a new direction in my work and I'm not sure that people will like it. It's not as sexy as it used to be and less sleek, but full of meaning.
